Open Court Decodable Takehome Books (Level 1P and Core books) www.sra4kids.com ISBN 0075723069 (Books 1-59) 0075723050 (Books 60-118) The wonderful thing about these books aside from the 118 books at an incredibly reasonable price, is that they are in full color and cover a huge range of phonics patterns from beginning sounds to magic e, walkers, soft and hard c and g, etc. They come in a tear out format which you can staple into mini books.
Phonics Comics at www.innovativekids.com. These are particularly good for second language students as they are available on three levels and the kids love them! Each full color comic panel has the illustration accompanying the text so that vocabulary and comprehension are enhanced. These books don’t seem too “babyish” for older struggling readers or ESL middle schoolers.
Scott Foresman Reading, Phonics Take Home Readers ISBN: 0673612570 (Grade K) ISBN: 0673612589 (Grade 1) ISBN: 0673612597 (Grade 2) ISBN: 0673612600 (Grade 3) These books are black and white and have great decodable stories with an introduction of sight words. Again, the price is reasonable and each set contains 30-36 books that are torn out and stapled
